ESTS Database

The ESTS Database is a clinical data platform supporting international data collection and research in thoracic surgery.

The platform is developed by BIOSTAT-X (Biostatistics & AI for Biomedical Discovery) at the University of Padua, a methodological laboratory dedicated to transforming complex biomedical data into reliable and clinically meaningful evidence. BIOSTAT-X provides expertise in biostatistics, study design, data analysis, and advanced modelling approaches.

The ESTS Database is built using REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture), a secure web-based platform widely used for clinical research data management. Access to the ESTS Database is managed at the level of each participating centre through a designated Unit Database Leader, who is responsible for coordinating data submission and managing user access within their centre.
