Home News & Announcements Reminder – Call for Applications Reminder – Call for Applications ESTS WGTS Mid-Career Fellowship in Surgical Oncology Empowering Women in General Thoracic Surgery The European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) kindly reminds members of the ongoing Call for Applications for the ESTS WGTS Mid-Career Fellowship in Surgical Oncology, an initiative of the Women in Thoracic Surgery Committee. This fellowship supports women in the first five years after completing training, offering advanced exposure to thoracic oncology research methodology. The programme aims to enable fellows to actively contribute to innovative clinical trials and to the advancement of thoracic cancer care. Programme Highlights Duration: 6–12 months Award: €10,000 to cover travel and accommodation Location: A leading European academic institution specialising in thoracic oncology trial design and conduct Focus: Lung cancer research, with emphasis on multidisciplinary care and equitable access Fellows will benefit from mentorship by academic thoracic surgeons, collaboration with clinician-scientists, and participation in projects integrating laboratory and clinical research. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must: Be an ESTS member in good standing (membership invoices paid) Be proficient in English Have completed a general thoracic residency and be actively engaged in cancer research Preference will be given to applicants from developing countries.
