This would align with the TADPOLE Program structure, which promotes co-supervision and allows candidates to remain primarily based in their home institutions. The TADPOLE (University of Padova PhD Program for Doctoral Studies) is an international initiative led by the PhD Program in Translational Specialist Medicine “G.B. Morgagni” of the University of Padua (UNIPD) in Italy. Students conduct the majority of their research at their home institutions and undertake a mandatory six-month research stay at the University of Padova. This model enhances training and deepens international scientific exchange. Over a three-year program delivered in English and Italian, it provides structured training across different specialized tracks and leads to the award of a PhD degree conferred by the University of Padua. It is not necessary for students to have proficiency in Italian. The university offers free classes for students who wish to learn or improve their Italian language skills. Although most activities and courses are conducted in English, some may occasionally be held in Italian. Funding provided by ESTS €10,000 in total to be used to cover Tuition fees of approx. €660 in total for tuition fees (distributed over 3 years) Living costs for study time in Padua (up to 6 months, exact timescale to be arranged with the chosen candidate).
