New Bursary Opportunity – Academy of Thoracic Oncology, Zurich 2026

The European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) is pleased to share a new bursary opportunity for the upcoming Academy of Thoracic Oncology – Multidisciplinary Update on Diagnostic and Treatment Pathways, taking place 21–23 October 2026 in Zurich, Switzerland.

Thanks to additional sponsorship support, a limited number of new bursaries are now available for onsite attendance.

The bursary provides free course registration, giving participants the opportunity to experience the full programme in person, including the hands-on workshops, which cannot be fully replicated online.

About the Academy

This educational course is organised by the European Respiratory Society (ERS), with expert contributions from the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS), the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) and the European Society of Radiology (ESR).

The Academy provides a unique opportunity to explore the full spectrum of lung cancer care through a multidisciplinary approach, bringing together expertise from thoracic surgery, respiratory medicine, medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology and palliative care.

The interactive programme will present the latest evidence and best practices in lung cancer screening, staging, diagnosis and treatment; explore recent advances in diagnostic and therapeutic approaches; review standards for palliative care and decision-making around resuscitation; and examine approaches to biopsy, biomarker integration and outcome prediction.
