Background

Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Ceará (1982). Specialist in Thoracic Surgery and full member of the Brazilian Society of Thoracic Surgery (SBCT) since 1991. Master's degree in Pharmacology (2001) and PhD in Surgery (2006) from the Federal University of Ceará. Completed an internship in the Lung Transplant Program in Toronto (2007-2020) and a postgraduate degree in Robotic Thoracic Surgery from the Albert Einstein Israelite Faculty of Health Sciences (2021-2022). He is an Associate Professor of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), preceptor of the Medical Residency in Thoracic Surgery at the Hospital de Messejana, and attending physician in the Thoracic Surgery Service and the Lung Transplant Program at the Hospital de Messejana Dr. Carlos Alberto Studart Gomes and the Walter Cantídio University Hospital. He works in the area of ​​Thoracic Surgery, with an emphasis on minimally invasive video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) and robotic thoracic surgery (RATS), in the treatment of lung cancer, inflammatory and infectious lung diseases, and lung transplantation.
