Background
I am a thoracic surgeon and postdoctoral researcher in lung transplant program in University Health Network, Canada. I obtained my Medical Degree (2017) from Juntendo University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan. I subsequently completed training in junior residency program (2019), senior residency program of general surgery (2022) at National Center for Global Health and Medicine in Tokyo, Japan. I also completed general thoracic surgery training at Juntendo University School of Medicine (2024), and becoming a board-certified thoracic surgeon. In 2022, I completed postgraduate training and obtained Doctor of Philosophy in Course of Advanced and Specialized Medicine at Juntendo University Graduate School of Medicine. I underwent robotic surgery training under Prof. Kenji Suzuki (Juntendo University school of medicine).
Research
I am currently studying chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD), which is the main long-term complication of lung transplantation. My research focuses on lung injury and regeneration in both human patients and animal models with CLAD.
