Background
Dr. Giovanni Leuzzi is a highly accomplished Thoracic Surgeon currently serving in the Thoracic
Surgery Division at the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale Tumori of Milan since 2015.
He graduated summa cum laude in Medicine and Surgery in 2007 from the Università Cattolica del
Sacro Cuore in Rome, and completed his specialization in Thoracic Surgery in 2013 at the Policlinico Gemelli, Rome.
Dr. Leuzzi has worked in several prestigious Italian institutions, including the Fondazione IRCCS
Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli in Rome, Maggiore and Bellaria Hospitals in Bologna
(2013–2014), and the IRCCS "Regina Elena" National Cancer Institute in Rome, where he worked

His principal clinical focus lies in general thoracic surgery, with significant expertise in:

In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Leuzzi maintains a robust scientific and editorial profile. He is the
author of 93 documents with 979 citations (h-index 16). His research is focused on rare thoracic
tumors (thymic and neuroendocrine malignancies), immunity in primary and secondary lung cancers,
and prognostic scores in thoracic oncology.
He is actively involved in clinical and scientific consensus, notably being a referent surgeon for the
TYME (Italian collaborative group for ThYmic MalignanciEs) network. In 2017, he co-organized the
"First Italian Consensus Conference on Thymic Malignancies" which led to the publication of the
Italian Guidelines for thymic pathology treatment. He also received the "International Thymic
