Prof. Dr. Young Ho Yang

General Thoracic Surgery - Surgeon

Background

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Yonsei University College of Medicine, Severance Hospital, Seoul, Korea. I completed my medical education and thoracic surgery training at Yonsei University Health System. My clinical practice focuses on minimally invasive thoracic surgery, particularly robotic thoracic surgery. I have a strong interest in the clinical application and expansion of robotic single-port (SP) surgery across various thoracic procedures, including mediastinal and other thoracic diseases.

Other Interests

I am interested in advancing minimally invasive thoracic surgery through international collaboration and academic exchange. I actively participate in international thoracic surgery societies and conferences to share surgical experience and technical innovation in robotic surgery. I am also committed to surgical education and the dissemination of advanced minimally invasive techniques.

Research

My research focuses on minimally invasive thoracic surgery, with particular emphasis on robotic single-port thoracic surgery. I am interested in optimizing surgical approaches and expanding the indications of SP robotic systems in thoracic procedures. My research also includes mediastinal tumors, thoracic oncology, and lung transplantation, with the goal of improving surgical outcomes and advancing minimally invasive surgical strategies.
