Home News & Announcements Spirit of Collaboration – ESTS/WGTS Scanlan Family Travelling Scholarship Spirit of Collaboration – ESTS/WGTS Scanlan Family Travelling Scholarship The European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) is delighted to announce a new partnership with Scanlan International to promote education, professional development, and collaboration among thoracic surgeons worldwide. Together, we proudly introduce the ESTS/Women in General Thoracic Surgery (WGTS) Scanlan Family Travelling Scholarship. Through this initiative, Scanlan International will provide USD 5,000 in funding to support the participation of two women surgeons at the ESTS 34th Annual Meeting, which will be held in Athens, Greece, 7–9 June 2026. This scholarship is designed to: Provide direct financial support for travel and participation at ESTS 2026. Highlight and encourage the contribution of women surgeons within the field of thoracic surgery. Strengthen professional networks and foster global collaboration. To be considered for this scholarship, applicants are kindly asked to submit the following: Proof of ESTS membership A current CV A personal statement (up to 500 words) Eligibility is limited to candidates from Low- or Middle-Income Countries, as defined by the World Bank classification. The two recipients of the scholarship will be formally acknowledged at the WGTS Reception during the Annual Meeting, offering visibility and recognition within the international ESTS community.
